Making it to the 2019 Eco Warrior Awards Long List recently marked the 6th time Kenya Geographic was getting a prestigious award nomination this year. The journey began early this June when we received a triple nomination in this year’s International Travel Awards for Africas’s Best Online Travel Agency, Kenya’s Best Online Travel Agency and Nairobi’s Best Online Travel Agency.
The International Travel Awards mark the pinnacle of achievement in the hospitality industry after the World Travel Awards. Nominees picked from more than a hundred different categories gain recognition from industry players across 120 countries. Voting is still ongoing and you can vote for us in the 3 categories we were nominated for.
In August we did it again with a double nomination at the Africa MICE Awards. We had made it to their MICE Tours and Travel Solution of the Year and Business Tourism Blogger of the Year awards. The Africa MICE Awards recognise persons and brands that organise business events and whose expertise and service levels meet global standards. Voting is still going on and we would be delighted if you could honour us with yours.
This is the second time we are getting a nomination at the Eco Warrior Awards. We made it first to their finalist list in 2016. The annual event recognizes efforts, innovations and exceptional achievements toward promoting responsible tourism which directly conserves the natural environment while supporting local communities through mutually beneficial and equitable partnerships.
This year’s event is running on the theme, ‘Tourism Jobs and the Green Economy: A Better Future for All‘. It will mark the 14th edition of the Eco Warrior Award Ceremony & Gala Night. The ceremony and gala night will take place on Thursday 26th September 2019 at the newly refurbished Nairobi Serena Hotel. The eve of UNWTO’s World Tourism Day which will happen on Friday 27th September 2019.
What a star-studded journey we have had! What a mixture of emotions! And it was all made possible by the support of an amazing team at Kenya Geographic. We can never thank you enough our loyal customers. For all our guest bloggers, a high five. But above all else, the overwhelming favour from God which singularly defines our DNA.
