There are two ways to experience this event. Locals pay KES 1,000, and non-locals pay USD 40 (dinner included) to attend the Sound and Light Show With Fireworks & Night Tour. The tour starts with visiting Fort Jesus at night, followed by the Fort Jesus Sound and Light Show with Fireworks. Enjoy a non-alcoholic beverage and snacks before embarking on a night tour of the ancient fort.

The second option for residents costs KES 2,500 and includes the Sound & Light Show with Fireworks, Night Tour, and dinner. The tour starts with visiting Fort Jesus at night, and then the Fort Jesus Sound and Light Show with Fireworks follows. After the show, they will serve you with snacks and a drink. Then, you will enjoy a traditional Swahili BBQ Dinner, which includes BBQ Chicken, Skewers, Chips, and Salad.

Every Thursday through Sunday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., you can take part in the extraordinary 60-minute experience that is unique to Africa. The showcase brings Mombasa’s history, culture and heritage to life, highlighting the 15th-century glory of Fort Jesus.

Over 500 candles illuminate the fort and rekindle the spirit of its former glory more than 400 years ago. Intelligent lighting and sound technology showcase Fort Jesus’ history through holograms, 3D projection mapping, and lasers.

The night never quite ends until the breathtaking display of pyrotechnics and projection art. Master pyrotechnician Jayshree Suchak and projection artist Sameer Noorali outdo themselves in this spectacular blend of the ancient meeting the modern.
